- Germany 19th Century|
Noah’s arks were a common toy of the late 19th century and were especially used by Christian children for Sabbath play on Sundays. It is clear that this did not originate as a Jewish object but since it relates to the biblical story of Noah and the flood it was acquired and donated to the museum with that understanding.
